Phase 1

It all started in Easter Term 2003 when Kim held a "Show and Tell" Open Evening and the methsocmathmos brought in a big book which was the portal into the World of Fiction. Unfortunately in a mathmo accident the key and map which are used to leave the Book were smashed and dropped into fiction, closely followed by Peter Graves. With Peter lost, people decide to go on a rescue mission, but before they can enter of their own free will, a freak happening with a pot of Earl Grey causes everyone except Dave and Angel to be sucked into the World of Fiction.

Whilst Martin, Chris and Matt are trying to work out a way of getting out of the World of Fiction, Kim is abducted by the heir of Quackeryn. Seeing other Methsoccers in trouble, Dave writes himself into the World of Fiction with his TARDIS, but no sooner has he retrieved Mark, Carys, Jon and Sarah than they meet Darth Graves who tries to stop them collapsing the world into one storyline. Angel flies in and rescues them, leaving the World of Fiction collapsed into the one storyline of Narnia.

Most people find themselves now on the Dawn Treader which sails to the Lone Islands, where in a scuffle with the Heir of Quackeryn, Mikie and Benedict join the crew, along with those travelling in the TARDIS. They split again, sending some back to Cair Paravel and some to find Kim. However the Book (being only a post-alpha version 2) starts to collapse, firstly taking away dialogue and then the world around them. They find Kim and everyone is reunited by strange properties of the TARDIS, by which means they all go back to Cair Paravel to find Angel trying to stop them. The TARDIS is destroyed, but Trevor, upon seeing the Book in the Upper Room, sends the Biddle into the World of Fiction. The Biddle brings Eleanor onto the scene, who then collapses the World of Fiction down and releases all those who believe in the Biddle, but leaving behind those who don't to be stuck in fiction.

Dave wakes up back in reality but when he gets to the Upper Room realises that by having some people stuck in fiction, the timeline he knew has changed and there are different people in Methsoc now. However no-one else knows this and takes him for being mad. Eleanor (being the Methsoc chaplain because Peter Graves is still in the World of Fiction) knows this, because she's been the one pulling the strings all along.

Phase 2

Phase 2 starts with Dave stuck in the mental hospital and Darth Graves in Star Wars. Angel rescues Peter but not Dave, who refuses her help. Meanwhile the other Methsoccers are visted by Chris's grandson who comes back from 2061 to ask for their help. They follow him to the future where they find the book in a post-apocalyptic Cambridge and subsequently re-enter it.

Dave gets out of the asylum and, finding Benedict, goes with him through the portal to 2061 as well, where they find that Dave senior is Supreme Commander of the forces there and Benedict senior is his security minister. Dave saves the methsoccers who had just landed in the World of Fiction but upon delivering them to Harry Potter reality, is written out by the evil Cheshire Cat.

Whilst Dave senior wants all methsoccers dead for some strange bitter and twisted reason, Benedict has swapped places with Benedict senior (who is really running everything behind Dave senior's back). Once Dave senior finds out what's going on, Benedict senior takes over command. Tanya rounds up all the Methsoccers by means of the Subtle Knife and then finds the Stargate, a portal out of the World of Fiction. However, the Cheshire Cat has other ideas; it brings all the baddies from fiction to fight the Methsoccers next to the Stargate, but Tim saves the day by using his Hogwarts magic to defeat them all. The Cat is then disposed of by Peter Graves. The Daves and the Benedicts then enter through the Stargate but realise that both worlds are falling together and will annihilate each other unless something is done. So, the Daves pilot the TARDIS into this temporal rift and write themselves out of all existence. Time heals itself and everything is as it should be, except Dave never was.

Phase 3

Everything seemed to be going OK. Chris was sitting in his room, playing on his computer, satisified without the knowledge the Dave never existed, only... ... Dave starts chatting to him on his computer and telling him to follow a whisky-coloured rabbit as he is in danger. Chased by men in black suits, Chris follows the rabbit and finds himself in a conversation with Dave in a bathroom mirror. Dave explains why he no longer ever existed and prophesies doom, and Chris is regurgitated into Dr Saxl's office just in time for a supervision.

When Chris tries to tell the rest of MethSoc Committee this, no-one believes him (Chris has had a history of delusionary experiences involving the non-existent Dave). Dave proceeds to possess Janet and abruptly ends the Committee meeting by ripping the Committee into N-space where nothing did, does or will ever exist, just as the same men in black suits burst in on the committee in real space. Dave warns MethSoc that they're in danger (in his own cryptic way) and sends them back into the middle of the Wesley Wednesday Bible Study with a chest full of gifts with which to fight the Enemy. Before they leave, however, Dave is abruptly snatched away and disappears.

Carrying their gifts they set out to Matthew Dyer's house to give him his. They meet two of the men in black suits, Lost and Found, guarding his door, and sit down to chat over coffee. Dave has given Matthew a corrected copy of 'A Brief History of Time', and Matthew explains to them that there are lots of different planes of existence and that Eleanor, the Chaplaincy Assistant is attempting to usurp the Chaplain's seat and take control. Unfortunately the real Matthew is currently trapped in his own bathroom and the Matthew with MethSoc is a shape-shifting imposter.

Meanwhile (nowhere near any ranches) Eleanor follows MethSoc to Matthew's house, but turns back when she senses Lost and Found. She turns into the Grafton Centre, thus evading Angel who is following her and the-soon-to-become-ex-Previous (NB - Angel, Previous and Eleanor are psi-forms and Angel can wrap her wings around her to make herself invisible). Eleanor runs off to Caius, where a mysterious figure resembling a 'carbonaceous snowflake' appears on the roof, scaring Mikie, who's sitting outside Great Saint Mary's.

Back in Matthew's room, Kim has discovered that the corrected version of 'A Brief History of Time' is also recounting their story, word for word. Steven Cooper decides to form a telepathic link with Kim to find out what is wrong, and Martin decides to attack Matthew with Benedict's axe. Just at that moment, everything turns black, the window shatters, and the false Matthew and Lost and Found all explode due to a device set by Dave. Via a letter in an envelope Dave tells them to rescue Matthew, look after their gifts and that help (in the form of Mikie) has arrived.

Angel meets Jonathan (Trinity - a delta form) outside Caius, and the carbonaceous snowflake falls towards them. Jon / Trinity almost escapes on his bike with Angel's necklace, but is knocked off his bike by a bus and the last thing we read is that the Ambulance has arrived...
